Letting short hair grow is hard work! I feel like I have hair for two and while this is good for long hair it gives you this "Momo" look with short hair. I feel like I need to cut it back, but I can't, because and-now-hold-your-breath-and-sit-down-because-this-is-going-to-be-legen-I-AM-GETTING-MARRIED-IN-AUGUST-dary!!!!! Yes. No kidding. And I need longer hair as a bride of course! I am busy wedding planning (which means going through every single wedding blog there is -planning on writing a wedding post soon!) and it is so much fun! Well I guess you can see in my pics that I am more than happy these days... And is there anything that pairs better with a good mood than bright neon colors? I don't think so. It's neon now and pastels in August, let me tell you!

Guys, us girls we are ALL romantic, don't let us tell you otherwise! Valentine's (but also any other day of the year) is the time to proof you can't be fooled. The great thing about these pieces by Jane Gowans here is, that they combine coolness ('cause we're waaaay cool!!!), but also girlishness ('cause that's what we really are deep inside: little girls.). I really like that soft and rough image combined in all of her beautiful designs available in black oxidised and silver in her new POP UP shop. Good thing also is that she has very reasonable prizes, too! Can you go wrong with that? Naaaah you can't.

During MBFW Berlin I took one afternoon off to visit the fashion blogger café. It was everything a girl could wish for: a lot of very nice and stylish fellow bloggers, a DIY booth sponsored by DaWanda where I created leather earings, cute cupcakes sponsered by Mango and fresh peppermint-ginger tea (which was necessary, since we all dressed as if it were 80 degrees outside when instead it was 39 degrees).
In my Mango giftbag there was this cute owl necklace, which I really like. But I thought why be selfish, let one of my dear readers have it!

Why am I always more impressed with how the guys dress? That's why at Bread&Butter on Thursday I decided to make a guy's trend watch. It's so interesting what's been happening in mens fashion these last seasons, I feel like they are having a revolution. What I saw for upcoming fall/winter:
1.BRIGHT COLORS,
2.CRAZY PATTERN MIXES,
3.LAYERING,
4.SAILOR STYLE OR
5.ENGLISH LANDLORD STYLE which includes (and I am very happy about it): FULL BEARDS!!! (see also my post about Patrick Mohr for that!)

Nothing more sexy and masculine than a guy with a beard. Add some tattoos and I will fall for you anytime!

I especially liked the pieces from danish label SUIT: knit, corduroy, earth colors, old fashioned buttons and natural materials such as leather and wood buttons reflected the English landlord style very well (not to mention the model from their lookbook did). They also showed the pattern-mixing and layering very well. Some sailor pieces were also to be seen: shirts with typical stripes in navy and white and they even had the color thing I mentioned going on: milti-colored stripes and cheques.

Berlin Fashion Week: Patrick Mohr backstage

I don't think I will ever get used to the stress and hectic backstage of a fashion show. I made some ~~shitty~~ pictures and also wanted to interview Patrick, but I just didn't want to be "another stupid fashion blogger" like the 15-year-old wannabes next to me, asking questions like: "What's the message of your collection?" Yak! I wanted to ask cool non-fashion-related questions like "What's your favorite tattoo?" or "Would you like some chicken soup?", ~~but he looked so skinny he's probably vegan or some crazy weird shit~~(no offense to all you vegans out there, though...). Anyway, I ended up not speaking a word to Patrick or anybody else for that matter. The whole time I was standing there like a moron wishing somebody would give me work without paying me for it just so I'd have something to do. I wanted to be the coolest chick back there, but failed miserably. I should be way more aggressive about stuff like that, but I'm shy when I shouldn't be. Now I want to kill myself for not having asked my stupid questions and the more I think about it, the more I realize how much I really wanted to know whether he liked chicken soup or not. Cause I definately do, you know...
Patrick's collection was really beautiful, very alternative as always, but also much more adult. I guess he really wanted to show that he's not a newbie anymore but someone to be taken seriously. All my respect to him, this is a collection that will sell and I can't wait for it to hit the stores.
I didn't end up making Patrick my friend because I'm just so fucking funny and cool, so next time, please don't invite me backstage, give me front row tickets instead, please. Thank you.

On Christmas Eve I happened to get the best presents from everyone: A Ukulele from the boyfriend, which I have been playing since until my fingers get numb. Thanks again bf! Sale is on these days, yaaay! I saw this colorful knit a while ago but I always found it too expensive (that's actually bad of me to even think, since it's from Zara and awfully cheap anyway...), so I bought it at a greatly reduced prize, which makes me happy. But when I tried it on at home I realized that I don't really know what to wear underneath, so I went crazy with an old fairylike H&M dress that I dragged out of the darkest recesses of my closet and combined with my favorite Guns'n'Roses shirt.
So, here you go lovelies, my first post in the new year! Hope it will be bright for everyone!

When my boyfriend had a photoshoot at an old French hotel I came to assist him but he also took a picture of me only dressed in lace since it matched the atmosphere in the hotel so well. I like how beautiful lace is on skin, so I encouraged myself to this saucy picture, haha!

Meet Miss Annie. I saw her on the street with her friend taking some pictures of her. Alex and I turned around our bikes and we asked her if it was cool to take some pictures for the blog. Turns out she herself has a cute little blog called TheFashionmirror where she blogs about fashion in her young 15-year-old life. She was super cool and more than willing to pose for the camera.
Even though I hate how precocious kids can be nowadays I appreciate the fact that they also seem to have more and more interest in things such as fashion, art, music and photography.

Judging the pictures from his show yesterday, Nasir took us all around the world and to another. The accessories definately seem to come from another world! Designer and enfant terrible Charlie Le Mindu showed his AW '11 collection at the London Fashion week and shocked the world. The models were either wrapped in see-through plastic dresses or completly naked. Now Nuditiy is nothing new in his show if you look at his previous one for SS '11 here. Anyway, what shocked most people this season was that not only were his model naked but also had fake(?) blood all over their bodys, bruises, gas masks and you could see very quickly what the topic was: VIOLENCE. To emphasize this there was not the usual music playing but a rather disturbing noise: pigs screaming. After the show Charlie came on stage in a butcher outfit.

Even watching it for just a few seconds was very disturbing and in a way also exhausting and it took me a while to think it over before I made my conclusion: f..cking genius! Some say showing this much violence is distasteful and I thought it as well, but think about it: Fashion is art and art always has a message. By choosing these provocative elements he wants us to wake up! Now if you see it that way, he actually did something wonderful!!! Shouldn't art(fashion) always be a little provoking?

You have seen my vintage biker jacket before, I'm wearing in only ALL the time, probably the best ebay bargain I've ever made...

I've been trying to find high-waist pants for so long and this one was on sale and I found it kind of cool. The pattern and shape reminds me of old gentleman's trousers, hahaha!

For this picture I had in mind all the old ads that show überhousewives easily managing their day-to-day life doing housework, raising the kids, making their husband happy -an image of a woman we don't want to be anymore but secretly admire: Our grandmothers or even already great grandmothers. I've been wanting to do a photoshoot with this dress for ages. I found it last summer in a little vintage store in Munich called Alexa's and I fell in love with it the minute I saw it. What I like about 60's fashion is that it is sexy but never slutty. I especially love the length (or should I say shortness?) of this dress while it is still high-necked. The green is so different, a real eyecatcher that goes well with next spring/summer trends and their citrus colors...

Okay here we go. There are quite a few don’ts in my opinion and the statement “Anything goes in fashion” simply doesn’t exist in my head. Here’s a list of the things I am so fed up with:

#1: The classic –leggings worn as pants. No matter how great your figure is it always looks unattractive. ALWAYS! The picture above actually also borrows…

…cliché #2: UGG boots. They were once considered to look cute on a girl, yeah, and I’ve had quite a few pairs myself, but honestly, I think there is a time and place for them. People are wiser now: They make you look like you had a waddling gait and everything else reminds us of a duck as well…

#3: Sad but true: I have NEVER in my life seen white boots that didn’t look cheap or slutty or both! I hope you don’t get offended by this but: leave them for the hookers…

#4: This picture says it all. Well actually I do have something to say: Are you serious???

#5: This is something a reader proposed and I have to say I partly agree with her: Skinny jeans compared with ballerinas. When did that first come up? Five years ago? Let’s be serious, it’s time for something new. ALTHOUGH there really are some girls who still pull it off well…

#6: Animal prints and fur on everything looks ridiculous. In my opinion no girl (or boy…) should overstep the bounds of good taste here…

Ok this is it for now, I know there are a lot of other things I don't like, I just can't think of anything else right now, can you?

I've got a love for all-black outfits, so here we go, this is my latest one... You can hardly miss that I'm also in love with my new hat, can you? To not look like a total gothic chick I always try to add some color -on my lips. My favorite lipstick these days is M.A.C.'s Amplified "Girl About Town". I was so fed up (remind me to write a post about all the things I am fed up with in fashion these days -there are a lot...) with the classic red lipstick so I think it's a nice change. I think although my style isn't always, I am a very feminine person so I always add some feminine elements.

How long does guacamole last in the fridge? Please say a year!

This is my latest outfit post standing by the river at 6 o'clock in the morning and -17°C/1.4°F... The way the fog stood over the river along with the white frost on the trees and the powdery snow was mystical and romantic at the same time. I can't even describe how stunning it was! But let's face it: It was fucking cold out there and it took like 10 minutes until I had to jump back into the car, that's probably why the pictures are kind of blurry. Sorry about that.

I like how they make you feel sexy and feminine, yet you can combine them with a bikerjacket and bikerboots to add a little coolness... This one here is my latest bargain and I am totally in love! Inspired by the art of Burlesque my outfit for this photoshoot is supposed to express both sexiness and grotesque exaggeration and maybe also involve a little parody... After smoking the whole cigar I felt kind of weird being the non-smoker I am... But I think it looks professional though, haha...

The gloves, the leather pants and, of course, the blazer remind me of the French couture house. I also did my hair a little different that day and felt very sophisticated in my outfit. Okay this might come across a little weird because it was actually my boyfriend Alex who showed me this video and said he liked his style and I used to tease him and say that HE was in love with pro skater Dylan Rieder, but really it's me. I love his Rock'n'Roll sense of style, the little things like the rings on his fingers.. I've always had a weakness for tough guys with tattoos who skate but then also have a sensitive side (this fella could weep you into sleep with his guitar every night, haha....) Oh no, while I am trying to get away from that cheesy undertone I catch myself dreaming again...

Bedford Ave, Br'klyn Pt. 2

Here's the second part of my afternoon in Williamsburg where I took pictures of random people on Bedford Avenue. I witnessed many great moments during these few hours, best one was probably this one: There were two guys getting out of the car they parked right in front of me, one of them carrying a huge bag. They crossed the street and stopped in front of a brick wall that belonged to a bar. Then, all of a sudden another car stopped right at the corner where they stood unpacking a camera. The driver got out of his car and opened the passenger door. I counldn't make a ryhme out of it until they got started: One guy standing in front of the brick wall rapping into the camera to the music blaring out of the speakers of the car with the open door. It was so gangster, I was actually scared to take pictures from the guys, but I swear it happened, haha.

The best thing to do in New York City is probably to get out of Manhattan. My favourite pastime is to catch the "L" to Brooklyn and walk through the streets of Williamsburg. I love how everybody knows each other there, just like in a small town, I love the many art galleries, the flea markets and, the antique shops. I feel like Brooklyn is the place to be when you are more then a rude, stressed out and indifferent New Yorker... Like most people I like to watch other people but with the only difference that I take pictures. These pictures here result from an afternoon I spent in the Bedford area, drinking tea and just letting my camera do all the work. Probably one of the best days I had in the City so far and a great way to meet people... I am fascinated by strangers and I always wonder what their story is. Take a look at these people and decide youself...

I always asked them what they thought of Gwen Stefani then. "Well," they would reply, "she can do it because she's a celebrity..." Custo Spring Collection Preview

I went to Custo’s press day to sneak a peek of their new spring’11 collection last week in their showroom in Soho and here’s my review :
Designer Custo Dalmau, combined a lot of different patterns, colors and fabrics so there was no other way then to really dig into the collection and actually touch, feel and experience his clothes. Whenever I spotted a piece I liked there was this moment of surprise where I said to myself: “Wait a minute, there’s some leather integrated!” or “Oh hold on I haven’t seen the changing pattern on the sleeves yet!”
I am an old hippie era admirer –I don’t know why, maybe I am just helplessly romantic- so it was clear to me that the collection with its psychodelic theme will be a total success.

Stranger at Union Square

This Rihanna look would of course never work for me and honestly it's not even really my style, but this girl is rocking that outfit! I was sitting at Union Square for a couple of minutes and talking on the phone when I saw her casually leaning against the handrail and my first reflex was to get out my camera and take a picture of her. I didn't even ask her and I hope she will be okay with me publishing it... Anyway, it was a nice and warm Saturday, probably one of the last nice days before fall actually settles in and I just loved how she was leaning there enjoying the warmth of the sunbeams...

Best places to photoshoot

Searching for the next good blog post idea I always end up trying to find the best and most interesting places to do a photoshoot because they are so much fun! In fact, I wish I was six feet tall and superskinny to be able to do photoshoots all the time as a model, but that's another story and even senseless to talk about since I can't do anything about my height, right?

It's fun to enter an old deserted building being full of hope and curiosity just like a little kid, or walk through forests and over lush meadows feeling like a hippie in the sixties. You can easily spend a whole day looking for these little heavens on earth and there are so many places to check out, so many possibilities... I recently moved to New York City into a lovely apartment on the Upper West Side and guess what I found there! My very own especially for photoshoots made ROOFTOP, yaaay! (Well actually I am pretty sure it is also made for sunbathing, parties, reading and chilling with a can of beer or a glass of wine up there...).
Anyway, although I am not a professional model I had so much fun getting photographed from Alex Freundorfer, even as it started raining cats and dogs... Thanks Alex!

I wish I could have been at The Creators Project London event to watch Jammer, Rodaidh McDonald, Sampha, and Mumdance creating a song in 58minutes trying to make it a #1 hit. The crowd suggested "Too much alcohol in my system" as title and chorus, and title and chorus it was.

Pretty impressive experiment isn't it? Same thing happened in New York as well, another song was created there by Mark Ronson, Sam Spiegel of N.A.S.A., Alan Palomo of Neon Indian, and Alex Greenwald. Now, the project is not over yet: VICE wants you to get involved and remix/create your own version of the songs!!! More information on the Pop Panel blog:

I was strolling through Munich on a sunny Wednesday morning when I came across a little atelier that completely captured my attention. Two men with unique styles were sitting on the landing in front of it enjoying their lunch out of a cast-iron pan. I later learned that one of them was Thomas Wilhelm Beckert, who calls himself the “beltmaker”, the other one was Michael, his apprentice.

The two welcomed me very genially and were more than willing to tell me about their profession. It has been Beckert’s idea 15 years ago to unify the old crafts of tailoring, saddlery, gold and silver work and furriery to create straightforward one-of-a-kinds. High quality leather, furs, tweed and loden make the collections with Irish, English but also Alpine elements. He often gets his inspiration by historical characters like the Tyrolean freedom fighter Andreas Hofer, King Louis from Bavaria and other folk heroes.

In times of mass production, quality losses and outsourcing to low-wage countries I want to draw your attention to little ateliers and boutiques like this one, where you can still appreciate made-to-measure pieces and individual style with special meaning.
